It's going to be different this year. We'll meet in Monterrey, CA, at Laguna Seca raceway, where the RA National Rally will just be sort of folded into the tail end of BMW's big 100th anniversary bash.
This event is really growing. What began as a small gathering of dual sport riders at Tom's property out in the woods not far from Plains has become a legitimate overland adventure rally and expo, with lots of bikes but also a growing number of 4-wheel adventurers. In fact, it has gotten so big that they are separating the two groups this year. In the past, it has been one big event, but they are basically splitting it into two events this time - two events on the same weekend in neighboring fields. Vendors have to choose between the motorcycle crowd and the 4-wheel crowd (I'll be with the latter this year).
The city of John Day, Oregon, is at the crossroads of Hwy 26 and Hwy 395, with fabulous riding, both paved and dirt, in every direction. The Chief Joseph rally is held at the Grant County Fairgrounds and is one of my favorite events every year.

Overland Expo West is the premier overlanding event in the United States and possibly the world. No other event anywhere offers the variety of classes taught by the world's leading experts, together with a professional-level consumer show that brings together in one place all the camping, vehicle and motorcycle equipment and services an overlander might need to get outfitted and get going.
I've been vending at the Overland Expos in Arizona - in Amado as well as Mormon Lake - since before the organizers tacked West onto the name to differentiate it from their new Overland Expo East in Asheville, North Carolina (which I've also vended at). I shivered through 2015's "Snowverland Expo" when 5" of the white stuff fell on us Friday night.
Overland Expo West is a world-class event. If you have any interest in overland adventuring, you owe it to yourself to show up for this great expo. It is the most amazing collection of overlanding vehicles, equipment, experts and aficionados you'll ever see in one place.
This Expo is the largest of its kind serving southeastern California, southern Nevada and southwestern Arizona. Though the emphasis will be on outdoor sports and recreation, I'm vending at it because this year the expo will also have a strong preparedness/survival aspect to it. I'm excited about presenting the fantastic new stoves from EcoZoom, several of the LifeStraw water filtration products, collapsible cookware from Nautical Scout and all the Helinox chairs, tables and cots that everyone is wild about.
This is Utah's largest preparedness and survival expo, and no one does preparedness like Utahans. On the other hand, this will be my first prepper event, and I have to admit that I don't really know the demographic. Fortunately, a lot of preppers have already told me that I have some of the best gear they've ever seen. In recognition of doing my first prepper event, I've identified and will debut some fantastic cooking and water-filtration products by LifeStraw and EcoZoom - products that aren't even on the website yet.
The Adventure + Gear Fest is Utah’s largest interactive adventure festival and outdoor gear sale open to the public. The event includes 100+ retailers, manufacturers and non-profits dedicated to outdoor sports and recreation. Join the top names in the industry and 10,000 outdoor enthusiasts for this great event at the South Town Expo Center in Sandy.
This year will be the 50th running of this annual Jeep safari! What a great tradition! It's a full week of Jeeping in gorgeous Moab, with dozens of guided trails, lots of special activities and two days of expo where Jeep-specific and/or adventure-oriented equipment will be on display and for sale. I'm really excited to be a part of the Expo on Thursday and Friday, March 24 and 25.
